10 Countries to Add to Your Bucket list

When it comes to bucket list countries, there are a few that always come to mind. Places like Italy, Australia, and Switzerland are often at the top of people's lists for their stunning scenery and amazing experiences. But what about those off-the-beaten-path destinations that offer just as much adventure and excitement? In this blog post, I'll share 10 countries on my bucket list that you should check out for an unforgettable adventure.

What is a Bucket list?

A bucket list is a list of things you want to do or experience before you "kick the bucket" (die). It's a way to bucket all of your dreams and goals into one place so that you can make sure to accomplish them. I've been working through my bucket list one place at a time, but I add them faster than I can cross them off!

Why Every Traveler Should Have a Bucket List

Having a bucket list is important for several reasons. First, it gives you something to strive for. It's a way to set your sights on new experiences and adventures, and it can help push you outside of your comfort zone. Additionally, a bucket list can act as a reminder to live life to the fullest and not take anything for granted.

So without further ado, here are 10 of my top bucket list countries to add to your itinerary:

If you're looking for an off-the-beaten-path destination, look no further than Papa New Guinea. This country is home to some of the most diverse landscapes and cultures in the world. From lush rainforests to active volcanoes, there's something for everyone in Papa New Guinea. And with over 800 different languages spoken, it's a great place to immerse yourself in new cultures. There are plenty of things to do in Papa New Guinea, from hiking and scuba diving to visiting local villages. Some of the most popular activities include exploring the Asaro Mudmen village, hiking Mount Wilhelm, and diving at Tufi.

The cost of traveling to Papa New Guinea can vary depending on your itinerary. However, budget travelers can expect to spend around $50 per day on food, lodging, and activities. The best time to visit Papa New Guinea is during the dry season from May to October. However, keep in mind that this is also the busiest time of year, so you'll need to book your accommodations and flights well in advance.

Jordan

Whether you want to explore ancient ruins or hike through stunning desert landscapes, Jordan is a great bucket list country. Home to some of the most well-preserved Roman ruins in the world at Petra, as well as the beautiful Wadi Rum desert, Jordan has something for everyone. And with its relatively small size, it's easy to see a lot of the country in a short amount of time. Popular things to do in Jordan include visiting Petra, hiking in Wadi Rum, and floating in the Dead Sea.

If you're looking to visit Jordan on a budget, expect to spend around $30-40 per day. The best time to visit Jordan is during the spring or fall when the weather is mild and there are fewer crowds. Plus, it's actually one of the safest countries in the Middle East, making it a great choice for solo travelers.

Croatia

Croatia is quickly becoming a popular travel destination, and it's not hard to see why. With its stunning coastline, medieval towns, and amazing food, Croatia has something for everyone. And with over a thousand islands to explore, you could easily spend weeks here and still not see everything. Some of the most popular things to do in Croatia include exploring Dubrovnik, sailing around the Croatia islands, and hiking in Plitvice National Park.

The cost of traveling to Croatia can vary depending on your itinerary. However, budget travelers can expect to spend around $50 per day on food, lodging, and activities. The best time to visit Croatia is during the shoulder season from April to May or September to October. The weather is still nice during these months and there are fewer crowds.

If you're looking for an exotic destination that's relatively cheap to visit, Cambodia should be at the top of your list. This Southeast Asian country is home to stunning temples, beautiful beaches, and friendly locals. And with its rich history and culture, there's plenty to learn while you're here. Some of the most popular things to do in Cambodia include visiting Angkor Wat, exploring Siem Reap, and relaxing on the beaches of Sihanoukville.

The cost of traveling in Cambodia is super cheap though, and the flight will definitely be the biggest cost. It's the perfect place for longer trips and budget travelers can expect to spend around $30 per day on food, lodging, and activities. The food in Norway is also amazing - with fresh seafood being a specialty.

The cost of travel in Norway can vary greatly depending on your itinerary and how you choose to travel. If you are on a budget, it is possible to spend as little as $50 per day. However, if you want to stay in nicer spots, eat at restaurants, and do more activities, your daily budget will be closer to $200. There are also a number of free or very cheap activities available, such as hiking and exploring the many scenic towns and villages. Overall, Norway is a relatively expensive country to travel in, but it is definitely worth it for the incredible experiences on offer! So if you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, Norway should definitely be on your bucket list!

Morocco

Morocco is a North African country that is rich in culture and history. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the ancient city of Fez, there is much to explore in Morocco. You can also take a desert safari, ride a camel, and see the sunset over the Sahara Desert. One of the biggest reasons that traveling to Morocco stands out to me is the food. Moroccan cuisine is a unique fusion of Arab, Berber, Moorish, and Mediterranean influences. The most popular dishes are tagines, which are slow-cooked stews served with bread, which are one of my favorites things to eat because of how aromatic and flavorful they are.
