Best Photo and Food Spots in Winter Park

When it comes to vacationing in Orlando, most people go for all of the theme parks. It is, after all, known as the Theme park capital of the world. But if Disney World, Universal Studios, and Seaworld aren't really your thing, don't worry! There are plenty of other great places to visit in Orlando, including Downtown Orlando, and my personal favorite - Winter Park.

Where is Winter Park?

Winter Park is a beautiful little city located just outside of Orlando. It's about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic. It's known for its quaint shops, lovely parks, and brick-lined streets. And while it may not have the big roller coasters or Harry Potter World, it does have its own unique charm that dates back to its 1880's origins. It was originally founded along the scenic railroad line and was a winter resort for wealthy northerners. Now, it's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

One of the best things about Winter Park is that it's extremely instagrammable. From the colorful flowers lining the streets to the charming cafes and shops, there are plenty of photo ops. And since it's not as crowded as some of the other areas in Orlando, you won't have to worry about getting your photo ruined by a bunch of strangers!

I was actually in town for a work event that I extended to a long weekend. During my short time in Orlando, I was able to meet up with a Florida based photographer - Kamilla Valeeva. She was an absolute gem to work with and knew all the best spots to go to! If you're ever in the area and you happen to need a photographer, I would highly recommend her! She's incredibly talented and just a genuinely lovely person :)

The Cas Feliz Historic Home Museum is a beautiful Spanish-style house that was built in the 1920s. It's now a museum and event venue, and it's absolutely stunning. The grounds are filled with beautiful flowers, and there's even a waterfall. It's the perfect place to take a few photos.

Hannibal Square

The Hannibal Square Heritage Center is a great place to learn about the history of Winter Park. It's also home to some really beautiful art. The center itself is quite instagrammable, but the real star of the show is the murals that are located on the outside of the building. They depict scenes from Winter Park's past, and they're absolutely gorgeous. They also have beautiful ivy growing on the front of the building, which makes for a great photo op.

Winter Park is home to some great restaurants, so you won't go hungry while you're exploring the city. And of course, many of them are quite instagrammable! Here are a few of my favorites:

Soho Juice Co in Winter Park

SOHO Juice Co.

The SOHO Juice Co. is a great place to grab a healthy snack or drink. They have a ton of different juices and smoothies, as well as the most customizable smoothie bowls I've ever seen. And of course, they're all very photogenic. I made a quick stop here on my way back to Orlando, and there were so many options to choose from. I ended up asking them to just surprise me with whatever they thought would be good, and it was amazing.

The Osprey

This restaurant is technically in Orlando, but is right over the edge from Winter Park. The Osprey combines contemporary cuisine with the abundance of Florida's land and sea to provide a unique culinary experience. The bar features excellent rum to match the menu, evoking memories of old and new world travel with its vintage cocktail interpretations. The seafood is superb, and there are a variety of options. The best of Florida's local shellfish can be found at the intimate Chef Counter.
